Fine art photography of pink wildflower

Fierce beauty III

Fierce-beauty-3-web

Part of a series of wild flower photographs taken on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path on a glorious spring day – size 40 x 26cm, availabe as a Giclée print on velvet soft Hahnemühle paper.

Soft colours that spoke of such femininity yet the flowers that carpet the cliff edge facing into the Atlantic Ocean know the hardship of all weather and baren rock. They have survived such punishing times and yet you would hardly know it as they nod their heads in the sunshine. Found growing in profuse carpets of colour close to where they say Saint David was born to his pagan mother Non next to the standing stones of another era during a thunder storm that cleaved the headland with lightning and caused the nearby spring, now a wellhead, to flow.

As a symbol of hardy femininity, the kind of resilience that keeps going in even the harshest of circumstances, these flowers seemed to speak volumes and I wanted to capture their fierce beauty in a series of painterly and subtle shots.

Fine Art Giclée prints are produced using professional, fade-resistant Epson inks and a range of high quality papers, resulting in beautiful, fully archival prints with incredibly fine detail. Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm paper has soft fibrous finish, much like a smooth watercolour paper, producing substantial art prints with rich, abundant detail and colour.
